Time time time

I always wanted to write more posts for my blog, if possible one post every day. When I read other mommy's blog, who is also a working mom like me, able to have new post everyday, I started to feel bad why I can't do so too. Am I really lazy? Am I really has so much less time compared to others? Last night, I started to figure where my 24 hours have gone to:

10 - 12 hours spent in the office
1.5 - 2 hours spent on the road (from home to office, to parent's house to pick up kids and go home)
2 hours spent on getting ready to work, packing and unpacking bags for the kids to go to school, bath, household chores etc
1 hour for dinner
About 6 hours spent on sleeping
1 - 2 hours on bonding time with the kids, relationship building with hb, and me time

Usually after having dinner and picking up the kids from my parents house, by the time we reach home it's about 10pm already. If they are not too sleepy, usually I will quickly unpack and pack their bags getting ready for the next day. If not I will just quickly get the kids to bed. Lynn is easy. Just need to give her a hug and some kisses and she will go sleep by herself. If it is not too late, usually I will read her some bedtime stories. As for Hao, he still needs me to accompany him to sleep. Moreover I'm still nursing him. By the time I can sit down for a rest, it will be probably one hour later. Sometimes I was so tired that I fall asleep together with the kids.

Weekend morning and afternoon time is for household chores and kids. When waiting for the washer to do its job, I will spend time doing some activities with the kids. For example craft, coloring, reading etc. I will bath the kids after lunch, to change them to something clean. After that I will try to get Hao to take his afternoon nap. Lynn will go sleep by herself when she is tired, I don't have to worry about her. Sometimes if I'm sleepy too I will take the nap together with Hao. After that will be my personal time with hb and for myself. Usually Lynn will be satisfied with me spending time with her in the morning. So she won't come disturb me. She will play by herself, with Hao, or turn on the DVD player to watch her favorite Barney show. But this is not the case for Hao. He will still come to me for some attention. It's not that he does not like to play with his sister, but it's just that he want to stick with the mommy. :( And Sunday, usually we will go back to my MIL house for dinner in the evening.

Even though I have more personal time during weekend, but I seldom write post. Simply because I just want to relax and want my brain to rest. Due to my job, I have to do research, study and design task a lot. So during weekend, I just want to do something light like reading and playing online game with hb. Since I rarely watch tv, that's my only entertainment to de-stress. There are so many things that I want to do. How I wish I can have more than 24 hours in a day.

Photo Tag

I was tagged by Alice Law from My Little Sprouts. The game is to look in your first photo folder from either Picasa or hard drive for the 10th photo, tell a story about it, mention the blog that tagged you, and tag five other blogs.

This is the 10th photo from my Picasa album, but not the first album as first album does not have 10 photos. :) So I choose the first album that has at least 10 photos inside and take the 10th photo from there.

This picture was taken during CNY of year 2009 at my MIL house. It was Hao's first CNY. He was about 7 and half months old at that time. This is his first collar shirt. Look too big on him? Hehe this kiasu mommy here was getting the size for Age 1-2 for him. Hahahaha! As we seldom go out, I don't want him become cannot fit into the shirt just after few washes. So I purposely get a bigger size. He still can fit into that shirt now after 1 year. Looks just the right size now. And I think he still can wear it for a while more. :D

It is difficult to choose just 5 people to tag to. So I think I just make it open to anyone - all are welcome to participate in this photo tag game. :)

My blog is carbon neutral

I should blog about this 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately sometimes thing do happen out of our control. :(

I received an email from a team in Germany who is working for an initiative called "Make it green!" end of last month. Their goal is to contribute in reducing the carbon footprint by raising awareness of the severe environmental damage caused by carbon emissions. Do you know that, a blog with 15,000 visits a month has a yearly carbon dioxide emissions of 8lb? In order to neutralize the blog's carbon footprint, they are planting trees in cooperation with the Arbor Day Foundation in Plumas National Forest in Northern California. Thousands of wildfires burned down many national forests over the past ten years and 88.000 acres of Plumas' were destroyed by two fires in 2007. For every participating blog a tree is planted. One blog - one tree. Click here if you want to know how it works.

Whenever we pass through this particular place on the way home from my parents house, for sure Lynn will ask me "Mama, why here got so many trees?". I certainly would not want her to ask me this "Mama, why here got no more trees?" one day. If you would like to participate in this project too, please click here.

Update

Sorry for no new posts for past 2 weeks. Kids were sick. One after another. Started with Lynn vomited on our bed in the middle of the night, followed by fever. Brought her to the doctor and she was alright after taking the medicine. But 2 days later the fever came back and never go off despite me feeding her the fever medicine round the clock including waking up in the middle of the night. We were worried if she was having dengue. Brought her to the doctor again and this time doctor prescribed her the antibiotic. Thank god her fever finally go away after taking the antibiotic. And the flu and cough recovered one week later when she finished all the flu and cough medicine. After that it was Hao's turn to get fever, flu and cough. Luckily the fever was not too serious and never come back after 2 days. And lastly, it was my turn to down with bad case of flu, cough and fever too. Having a very bad nose blocking which affect my breathing. And not to mention frequent trip to the washroom to clear the nose. And headache... something that I hate very much. :( We suppose to go for the "cheng meng" last Saturday but hubby saw me in such a bad condition, he asked MIL to reschedule it to this Saturday. With the kids and me falling sick one by one, I did not do much activities with them during the weekend. No craft work. Besides the homework from the kindy, just some coloring, some cut and paste activities and reading. Been trying to do more reading with the kids especially on Chinese language. Hao the impatient one, will always "run" away to play with the toys before I finish reading the whole story. Exactly like Lynn last time. But at least now, still have one kid (Lynn) sitting beside me listening to me finish reading the whole story. :)
