My Old Faithful Canon IXUS 500

I bought this Canon IXUS 500 about 5 years ago through a friend. He got 2 discount vouchers on buying this camera at slightly cheaper price with some freebies, and he was kind enough to share the vouchers with me (He bought one himself too). It is the very first camera that I bought for myself. I used to like this camera a lot. It is easy to use, give good shots and produce nice picture. I have been using it to capture all sorts of pictures that give good memories. Well, 5 years are too short and good enough for a camera to last? I don't know. Lend it to my parents few years back when they went to China. Maybe it's due to the cold weather there (they went there during spring season). The camera gave some problem after that. I sent for repair once after that. Since then, I becoming not so like the camera already. The quality of the picture has become not that good already. And also the battery is not lasting anymore. I have to charge the battery right before I need to use it. Else it will be depleted over time and when I want to use it, it can only last for few shots before I get the battery low warning. So I seldom use it anymore. As I do not have another camera, so indirectly I'm taking much less picture now.

At the beginning of the year, I planned to get a new camera. So I waited for the sales in March. I also search through the web for the new camera. However just before I manage to purchase the new camera, the Canon camera went death. :( Well, it's due to my careless too. I put in on my lap and it dropped to the ground when I was attending Hao. So I have been without camera for a month. I could not capture the picture of the kids until I get the new camera. The new camera that I'm looking for, according to the news will be brought into Malaysia by end of March. I hope it will be available in the Malaysia market very soon. I can't wait for a new camera!

Guiding Thoughts

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important
than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than
failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It
is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or
break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have
a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will
act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing
we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I
react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our
Attitudes." Charles R. Swindoll

This is so true. And I like the last line - life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. We choose to be happy, angry, or sad. We are the one responsible for our actions and reactions. We should not blame.
We are in charge of our Attitudes. :)

A Day with Grandma

Yesterday, Hao's babysitter had to go out settle some personal matter. So I seek mother-in-law (MIL) help to take care the boy for a day. Else I had to take a day off. MIL actually had to go for a body check-up in the morning. However she was kind enough to re-arrange the appointment.

I was a little worry. Knowing the boy has stranger anxiety, putting him with someone that he does not meet very often had made me feel a little uneasy. I was worry he will be giving lots of trouble to my MIL. From the morning, I kept on telling him today he will be going to grandma's house. He cried when I left MIL house to work. MIL assured us he will be alright as this is absolutely normal.

We went to pick him up after work. He was playing with MIL happily in the living room. MIL told us he just cried for a while in the morning then stopped. He was good boy the whole day, except a bit 'sticky'. Followed her wherever she go. He wanted accompaniment and attention. I felt relief after hearing this. Phew! Looks like I am worrying too much. Oh Zhe Hao o zhe hao.... you are awesome. Mommy love you!

Hao @ 8 months

Time flies. Hao is already 8 months old. Again, his weight has not been increasing much for the past 2 months. He is now weighted at 8kg . This is his progress so far: -

  • Know how to wave bye bye. However only as when he likes it. Happy
  • Can sit still quite steady for quite some time. So now when we dine out, I can put him on the high chair.
  • Can crawl quite well and for quite a long distance.
  • Know how to kneel.
  • Know how to change from a sitting position to crawling position.
  • When he catch something, he will play with it using both hands instead of putting it directly into his mouth.
  • Like to grab things. Whenever he saw something catch his eyes, he will think of ways to reach it.
  • His latest favourite toy is no other than my mobile phone.
  • Will make sounds of ba ba ba ba..., wa wa wa..., aaa... Will hear him saying mama... mama... ONLY when he cries looking for me for milk. Latest favourite word is da da da..., de de de...
  • Having Nestle Honey wheat cereal with breast milk and brown rice powder in the late morning. And taking porridge in the evening. Prefer salty taste than sweet.
  • Getting more distracted easily when being nursed and thus making the breastfeeding time becoming slightly longer. Sad
  • Would like to play for quite some time before going to bed at night pushing his bed time from 10pm to around 11pm.
  • No sign of teething yet.
  • Like to get hold of things and pull himself up. Probably going to stand up very soon.

Wedding photo

photogreative

Do you wish to have such beautiful picture like this taken for you?  Photo courtesy from Photogreative.

Nice wedding photo, isn't it? Well, this is not my wedding photo. How I wish I could have such nice photo shoot being done on my wedding day. How I wish I could have met this old friend of mine back to when I got married 4 years ago. So that I can hire him to be my photographer on the day I got married. Hehe

When I got married 4 years ago, I just got few friends of mine to be the photographer for the day. At that time, the cost of hire a photographer for the day was not cheap. We thought we could have save some money by just asking favor from friends for it. The results? Well, since they are not professional photographer, what kind of quality can we ask for. Especially after seeing those nice wedding photo taken by my this professional photographer friend, now I'm feeling regret for not hire any professional photographer on my wedding day.

This friend of mine is my primary schoolmate cum neighbor. We used to take the same school bus to school together as we are staying in the same neighborhood. We lost contact to each other after we went to different secondary school. We resumed contact each other when he got married more than a year ago. He had been taking wedding shoot for people for years. You can view his profile here. Photogreative is setup by him and 2 other partners. They offer professional photographing service for actual wedding day and outdoor pre-wedding They also offer actual wedding day video service. Besides wedding, they also shoot picture for baby/family portrait, pet, event and food/products. See this nice baby photo taken by my friend. Click here for details of the packages available. And if you are member of the Malaysia Brides, you can enjoy discounted price from signing up their wedding day package promotion.

Later I'm going to get him to capture some nice pictures of my 2 kids. Hehe cant wait! :)
