School holidays

These 2 weeks are school holidays. So there is no class. But since Lynn is on the full day program (class + child care), so we are still sending her to the kindy as usual. Since no class, so no need to wear uniform. She gets to play with her other friends who are also attending the child care whole day long.

During this school holiday, the kindy organizes in total 4 field trips for the children: -

1. Pusat Sains
2. KLCC Park
3. Planetarium and Butterfly Park
4. Tun Razak Park

I can't recall when I was attending kindy, did the kindy arrange any field trip or not. I can't remember if I ever been to any places with the friends and teachers from kindy. When I was young, my father was quite protective. He even did not like us to attend any friend's birthday party. He thinks it is wasting time. Another problem was the transport as my mom only got her driving license when I was 10 years old. SO before that, even school activities on Saturday we had to rely on the school bus. At one time my mom enrolled us to the Art class at school but by the time the class was over school bus would have left already. There was this mother of another student (we get to know her from the Art class) was so kind to agree to fetch us back after the class every Saturday. I only remember attended birthday party for 2 of my classmate during primary school. Can't remember how old was I. Most probably when I was in Standard 3. Can't remember how my father agreed to let me go. But I guess must be due to my mom. :D

As I always did not get to go have fun with my friends, I always felt like being left out from them. But can't blame them, isn't it? Imagine I was the only few (less than 5 probably) that did not get to join the school trips, while others was happily talking about it but I could just sit there and listen. Even for the final year trip at Standard 6 to Singapore, as expected I did not get to go too.

After I started attending secondary school, my father became less protective and let us to be more independent. We get to join the school trips organized by the societies and clubs, e.g. to Penang, Cameron Highland etc. I was very happy and excited. Me and my brother also started learn to take public bus to school and back home. As my house is in KL and we were attending PJ schools, it was rather inconvenient to take public bus to and back from school. We got our driving license as soon as we hit our 17th birthday. And after that, my father refused to send us instead he asked us to drive ourselves if we want to go out. So we learn to drive in those busy roads within KL and PJ. Since then, everything is "by myself".

Back to Lynn's school holiday programs, we enrolled her to all 4 field trips. She did not tell me much after coming back from Pusat Sains. Wonder how much she can understand from the visit. The teachers brought the children to play water in the KLCC Park. This was out of my expectation at all. To me it's a big responsibility to take children to the pool. Due to the hot weather, Lynn came home with a much tanned body - the mark of the swimming suit is so obvious. She kept on telling me about the rocket after the trip to Planetarium. She was saying  something like the rocket got fire, shoot up in the sky, then the rocket was broken and fall down, and she was scared. Hehehe. I asked her about the Butterfly Park but she was not talking much about it. This morning is the last field trip to Tun Razak Park. It was not hot this morning. Hopefully she wont become more tanned. :)

Soon school holiday is coming to and end. Next week will be back to normal. Oh yes this Sunday is a special day.

Happy Father's Day to all daddies!

What kind of service is this?

In the past almost 3 weeks, my house phone was not working properly. My mom was complaining whenever she called the house phone, it was engaged. When I pick up the phone, there was no dialing tone. Well, this happen before especially during raining days. Usually after 1 or 2 days the phone line will back to normal. However this time, it seems like after 2 weeks the phone line is still not working properly. There is no problem on the internet access, so I did not realize the phone line is having some problem until my mom was complaining about it (I seldom make phone call at home).

So on 2 days before the Hari Raya break, I called to lodge the house phone problem. They said it will be fixed in 24 hours. The next day the home phone was fixed. However the streamyx was down. Me and hubby was so upset. Hubby later called up the streamyx help line to lodge the complain. They said will be fixed in 2 working days. However the next day was the Hari Raya holiday.

So the 2 rest days at home was without internet access. I had nothing much to do so I took the opportunity to sleep a lot (replacing the insufficient sleeping hours for the previous 2 days before the holidays due to working late till midnight in the office). And also take my own sweet time to clean the floor of the entire house.

Soon after the Hari raya holidays - Guess what? The home phone line was down again! Now both home phone and internet access are not available. What kind of service is this? I'm so upset and disappointed with the service provider.

Trip to Genting Highland - Day 2

I woke up very early in the morning, at 7.30am. I have forgotten to off the Alarm as today I'm off for work. Anyhow, I cant go back to sleep. So i woke up, take my time to clean up myself, took a hot bath. Just I have finished getting myself ready, about 8am, Lynn woke up. Just the right timing.

The bathtub of the hotel room is faulty. After taking a nice hot bath, I cant get the water to drain off. What a stupid bath tub. No matter how hard we tried, it just not working. So I had no choice but to bath Lynn at my parent's unit. Luckily it was just the next unit.

We took a walk at the Awana resorts surroundings before we went back to the room to had our simple breakfast. Then we headed to the Awana Skyway station. Dad wanted to take the skyway to Genting. Poor lynn, as we didn't bring along the stroller (hubby think it will not be easy to move around with the stroller), she was tired and sleepy and yet she wanted to enjoy every moment. Well, you can imagine how a sleepy child will react. We all take turn to carry her, calm her down when she made fuss.

Finally we reached Genting at close to 12pm. So it's time for lunch. We went to the Star Box to had a lunch karaoke. Lynn continue to make fuss, but then after she got tired, she finally took a nap on the sofa.

After lunch, we went to the Indoor Theme Park. We bought an unlimited ride adult ticket and an unlimited ride children ticket for hubby and lynn. This was the first time she went to the Theme park and her very first ride was the Carousel.

She did feel scare at the beginning for the first few rides, but then after a while, she's ok with it and started to ask for more! So for the rest of the rides, she took twice for each ride. Luckily for each ride she just asked for one more. Well, I missed the fun with her this time. As I'm pregnant, I don't really feel like taking any ride, so I didn't buy any ticket for myself. So hubby accompanied her all the way. And hubby told me she was asking where is mommy. I feel bad hearing this. I should have shared her fun and joy together with hubby.

After finishing all the rides, it was already late evening. And it was raining outside. So we decided to had our dinner there before coming back to KL. We reached home at about 8pm (hubby took a wrong turn after the toll, so we took a longer time to reach home). I quickly unpack all the thing and get Lynn to bed. She was actually already sleeping in the car on the way home, after a tired afternoon at the Theme Park.

Trip to Genting Highland - Day 1

We went to Genting Highland, with my parents and my bro family last weekend. We went there on Sunday (after lynn's class is over) and stayed for a night at the Awana resort. So we got to take a day off from work on Monday.

It was a planned holiday. Thanks to my sis-in-law who managed to get the accomodation for free for all of us. She booked 2 rooms, each room has 2 double bed on it. So just enough to fit 8 of us (6 adults, 1 toddler and 1 baby).

We had our dinner for the first night at The Olive Restaurant, in the Genting hotel. It was a high class western restaura
nt. And of course the price is also 'high class' rate. :) I ordered the grilled salmon, hubby and sis-in-law ordered the duck, dad had beef, bro had the wagyu beef and mom had the lamb. When the food was served, we just realized it was not duck meet, but duck liver. But it was very tasty. The beef and the lamb was juicy also. On the other hand, the salmon that I had was nothing special. We ordered some dessert too. And the dessert was real good and tasty.
After the dinner, it was rather late already. We went back to the hotel to rest. Lynn was so happy. She knew it was not at home, meaning another day with all of us. She jumped, skipped, and dance at the hotel room, before I managed to get her to sleep.
